Asian influences incorporated into these custom made cabinets.
Tim and Virginia spent many years in Asia, and wanted to incorporate details in their kitchen from this part of the world. Architect Chris Broda designed this kitchen to meet their wishes. All the horizontal walnut members of the kitchen are 1/2" proud of the rest of the face surfaces, resulting in a strikingly unique look. There are hand arranged tiles inset in all the upper row of drawers around the entire kitchen, and were also used in portions of the backsplashes.

Delnero Custom Kitchens was commissioned to build this kitchen because of our high end workmanship, and our ability to custom build to any detail. Our competitors in this job were Crown Point Cabinetry. They build very nice cabinets (though mass produced) but were unable to give Tim & Virginia the horizontal walnut sections that needed to stick out farther than the rest of the maple faces, and a top row of drawers built to accept hand made tile panels. We have no assembly lines that restrict us to any particular style, and still build all our cabinetry, islands, and vanities completely by hand.

A large center island measuring 8'-6" long x 6'-4" wide serves as both the focal point, and a grand work space in this custom kitchen. The island was custom built by hand out of solid American walnut wood. Note, subtle changes (click Isometric Drawing below) to the island from Architect, Chris Broda's early drawings, to her final design in the finished piece.

The side facing the sink cabinets has 9 dovetailed drawers, including two banks of 3 drawers each that are angled towards the cook as one stands in front of the down draft gas stove. The finished island also sported bi-level granite counter tops.

A shot of the opposite side of the island that features an 8'-6" long lowered counter supported by two large walnut legs that serves as a breakfast area. The island was wired with electrical outlets, phone, and cable.

The rest of the cabinets were hand crafted of a combination of American Walnut and clear Sugar Maple wood. Two full floor to ceiling cabinets flank either side of the sub-zero fridge. A frosted glass was used in the real mullion crisscross upper doors.

This section of cabinets wrapped around a corner, and featured a wine refrigerator and wine rack in this section. A small computer desk and a bin to hold the dog's supplies occupied the other side of this L shaped cabinet.
