Custom Made Handcrafted Furniture from Very Old Salvaged Woods
The appearance and flavor of this primitive chest was inspired by Joni, the client who was responsible for
Delnero Custom Furniture to eventually create a full line of furniture built entirely of reclaimed woods.
Joni had commissioned the first sugar chest we ever built. By the time this second project came along, we
had formed a good working relationship.
Over the years our clients have been responsible for so much of the character and essence that goes into our furniture. Customers used to refer to us as craftsmen, but now we hear words like artisans. The pure and natural beauty of these old reclaimed boards does feel like an artist's canvas.
This blanket chest started with planks of old spruce wood that were laying across beams in an 1885 barn that was converted into a garage. We were able to buy enough wood from this property to build close to 20 pieces of custom reclaimed furniture.
As is the case with all our "green furniture", there is no use of newly cut materials. Even backs, shelves, and bottoms that may never be seen are built of recycled woods.

The key hole is cut into the worn texture of a piece of timer that has endured the test of time.
